Every culture has its own story of how their world was created. Greek mythology states that when the world began, it was a place where humans weren't welcome. They lived in caves, hiding from the titan lord Kronos. But then Kronos received a prophecy, telling him that his five children would overthrow him. To avoid the prophecy, he ate his children, but his wife tricked him by keeping one of the children away from him. Since all of his children were immortal, they were growing up completely normally in his stomache. When the one who escaped being eaten (Zeus) became an adult, he fed Kronos a poison, making him throw up the other four children. Then all five of the children attacked him, chopped him into tiny peices with his own scythe, and threw him in to the darkest part of Tartaurus (hell, basically). The five children became the gods (Zeus, Hera, Demeter, Poseidon, and Hades)
. They were good leaders, and under them humans started to grow and learn.
