Gettysburg (Henry)

First of all, the Ammosh town was amazing.  It actually freaked me out.  Then, we drove to Gettysburg, the most beautiful city in the country.  The buildings were full of history, and architectually significant.  We had to listen to ghost stories that were pretty stupid, but learning the history was amazing.

Haunted Tour of Gettysburg

Here's the haunted Farnsworth House in Gettysburg. We had a tour of history wrapped in with the paranormal. Some of our group are believers while a few skeptics cross examined every piece of evidence or tool (dowel rods). -G

the tour that we just went on was pretty darn scary. When i used the rods, i asked a lot of questions that the ghost answered quickly. The scariest part was when i asked if he was a confederate and he said yes, followed by a no to being in the union. The nice part, yet still creepy, was when i asked if he was my friend...he said yes./// Ibrahim
Just went on the haunted tour. Probably the scariest tour that I have ever been on and my favorite part of the ECT so far.

This is an omish family.

This building is an example of neoclassical architecture. It is based on ancient Greek and Roman architecture. It uses columns to support a triangular pediment. The columns are strong because unlike a wall they have a wide base which supports the column, and because there can be many columns in place of a single wall. -Sophie. Math.

Arms

These weapons can also be found at the Metro. Art Museum in New York. These type of guns would've been used by marauders. So cool!

This is an engraving of the 54th regiment in the civil war. This was the first African American regiment in the united states army. When they learned that they were being paid less than the white regiments, they decided to become a volunteer regiment. Their bravery in the war shows that the place someone comes from has nothing to do with their ability to succeed.

This is a painting found at the Metro. Art Museum in New York. This particular painting is done by Jackson Pollack. Jackson Pollack is an American artist who used splatters. Unfortunately he is no longer alive; however, his artwork is famous and known by artists around the nation.

Overall, new york was very fun. Everthing was fun, the city seemed so alive. It was a more lively version of boston, and that could be either good or bad, depending on the person. In my opinion, i kind of like it better. Dont get me wrong, boston was so much fun, and i would probably rather live there, but i have a lot of family in new york And as everyone knows, im a lively person. So i did like new york and the flow of it, and how its the city that never sleeps.///Ibrahim

We are leaving New York soon after we eat lunch. I like New York more than Boston overall, but we did better things in Boston. Going to the top of the rock was my favorite thing so far.
-Hunter

Plymouth rock was much larger when the pilgrims came to America. Over time, wind erosion and water erosion have eaten into the rock, turning it to sand. (not to mention the thousands of people breaking off peices of it for a souvenier) Plymouth rock would still be eroding today if it was not in an enclosure to keep it safe.

Farewell New York (Henry)

New York is truly an amazing city. Central Park is just to die for, the buildings are tall and proud, and the people are the most diversitile I've ever seen.  On our trip to New York, we only went to tourist areas,  so it isn't really dare to judge.  Boston is full of life, but I would prefer to live in New York.  The city that never sleeps.

Depite having a love and passion for the wilderness, I'm also a city boy at heart. While I like Boston, I'd be more of a fan of living in NYC.

Buddha (Henry)

This buddha was an iconic figure in China in the 6th century. Wearing a lot of jewelry this was a quintessential kind of art in China. To me, this is very significant because of its height, fine art, and its symbolism.

The statue of liberty used to be a copper color, until the copper became oxidated. Oxidation occurs when copper is exposed to the elements for too long, and a chemical reaction starts to happen, turning the copper a blueish green color.

The lights on the top of our elevator were created using a projector. A projector works by placing different colored slides in front of a light. The lights from the projector hit the glass on the top of the elevator, allowing us to see it as pictures.

To figure out the price of a souvenier, you start with a reasonable price. If you are in New York, add 10 dollars. If you are at a monument or tourist attraction, add another 5 dollars.

Top of the Rock! (Henry)

This is the top of the Rockefeller center. It is truly phenomenal.  The views are of all New York, including central park, the east river, and some of the different buroughs.  The observation deck was originally built in 1933, but a new observation deck was built in 2005, with perfect see-through glass.
