The four forces of flight are lift, drag, thrust, and weight. The wings of an aircraft create lift. Wings have rounded front edges because air flows well over rounded edges, whereas sharp edges disrupt the airflow. Wings lift the airplane because there is a different pressure level on top of the wing than t there is on the bottom. Drag is created when an object in the air disrupts the airflow, creating friction with the air. The more aerodynamic an object is, the less drag it creates. Thrust is the forward motion an object needs to get lift. The thrust of an airplane comes from its jets. The last force is weight. Weight affects flight because the heavier an object is, the more lift and thrust it needs to become airborne.
